Replace with off-the-shelf software. Just lift-and-shift. Rewrite it. Containerization. MIcroservices are your friend, and on it goes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Most, if not all, \u2018solutions\u2019 come from those with an agenda. Ours does too, but our agenda is doing what\u2019s right for the client and, if it isn\u2019t right, then we say so and walk away. You won\u2019t find a bad reference for Morphis in the market.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">So what\u2019s \u2018right for the client\u2019 in modernizing their legacy application? A modern language? Re-architecting? Cloud ready? Lowest cost? Fastest delivery time? Lowest risk? All of these? Yes, and that\u2019s exactly what Morphis delivers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">But we see others recommend a rewrite of a legacy application because they have developers on the bench. We find prospective clients who\u2019ve been told they face a 7 year delivery time for their modernization project. How could anything take that long? We\u2019ve found clients who were 5 years in and only part way through their rewrite project, a project we took over and delivered in 2 years from scratch.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">One comment I saw recently really resonated. It came from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.effectiveengineer.com\/blog\/cardinal-sin-of-software-engineering\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"s2\">Edmond Lau who pointed out<\/span><\/a>, the challenge is to get your legacy application \u201cas quickly as possible to a state where you\u2019re again making incremental improvement\u201d.\u00a0Whether you\u2019re a software vendor with paying customers or<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>providing a service to internal customers or members of the public, this makes a lot of sense.
