1. INTRODUCTION

The European Green Deal set the blueprint for this transformational change. A change which will bring with it many benefits, from creating new opportunities for innovation, investment and green jobs, to improving our health and wellbeing.

All 27 EU Member States committed to turning the EU into the first climate neutral continent by 2050.

As a further step on the path towards climate neutrality, companies must also make an effort towards this path and Morphis Tech is also committed with this aim by promoting sustainability.

1. FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES

This policy guides our actions and strategic decisions, ensuring that we operate in an ethical and sustainable manner, benefiting our employees, customers, partners and society as a whole.

Guiding Principles:

  • To comply with, and exceed where practicable, all applicable legislation, regulations and codes of practice.

  • To integrate sustainability considerations into all business decisions.

  • To ensure that all staff are fully aware of our Sustainability Policy and are committed to implementing and improving it.

  • To minimize the impact on sustainability of all office and transportation activities.

  • To make clients and suppliers aware of our Sustainability Policy and encourage them to adopt sustainable management practices.

  • To review, periodic report, and to continually strive to improve our sustainability performance.

2. MAIN GUIDELINES

Morphis Tech and associated companies will make every effort to maintain this policy in force and follow the good practices included therein.

2.1 ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Morphis Tech is committed to:

  • Reduce energy consumption through certified equipment with high energy performance.
  • Use renewable energy sources whenever possible, either directly or through partners.
  • Implement energy-saving practices in offices, including motion sensors for lighting, automatic device shutdown
  • Adopt green computing practices (green IT), prioritizing the use of services
  • Reduce the energy consumption of office equipment by purchasing energy efficient equipment and good housekeeping.
  • Seek to purchase electricity from a supplier committed to renewable energy. Seek to maximize the proportion from renewable energy sources, whilst also supporting investment in new renewable energy schemes.

2.2 WASTE MANAGEMENT AND RECYCLING

  • To minimize the environmental impact of electronic waste (e-waste),
  • Implement a program for recycling and reusing obsolete IT equipment
  • Work with suppliers and partners who specialize in responsible management and disposal
  • Reduce paper usage and promote fully digital processes whenever possible
  • Encourage customers and employees to adopt sustainable technology disposal practices.

2.3 SUSTAINABLE SOFTWARE AND INFRASTRUCTURE

Morphis Tech‘s core business is the modernization of legacy systems, and one of the areas it focuses on is code analysis. The technology developed in-house allows for a careful analysis of the challenges of modernizing systems with legacy codes and code optimization through advanced clone detection techniques, dead code detection and code reengineering. This allows for a significant reduction in the processing effort of the systems and consequently a better processing efficiency of the infrastructure that supports these systems, leading to better energy efficiency.

In addition, the company also seeks to:

  • Optimize code to reduce server usage and energy consumption.

  • Implementing scalable architectures that minimize waste

  • Reducing the need for cloud processing through optimization

  • Choosing hosting providers that use renewable energy and sustainable practices.

2.4 SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY AND REMOTE WORK

Travel, work and Meetings:

  • Reduce the need for our staff to travel by supporting alternative working arrangements, including home working etc, and promote the use of public transport by locating our offices in accessible locations.

  • Walk, cycle and/or use public transport to attend meetings, site visits etc, apart from in exceptional circumstances where the alternatives are impractical and/or cost prohibitive.

  • Reducing corporate travel, prioritizing virtual meetings and remote communication technologies. Avoid physically travelling to meetings etc where alternatives are available and practical, such as using teleconferencing, video conferencing or web cams, and efficient timing of meetings to avoid multiple trips. These options are also often more time efficient, while not sacrificing the benefits of regular contact with clients and partners.

  • Include the full costs of more sustainable forms of transport in our financial proposals, rather than the least cost option which may involve travelling by car or air.

2.5 RESPONSIBLE SOURCING AND CONSCIOUS CONSUPTION

  • Demonstrate commitment to sustainable practices, such as circular economy and recyclable materials.

  • Have ethical supply chains and are free from child labor or other harmful conditions.

  • Purchase fair-trade and/or organic beverages.

2.6 AWARENESS RAISING AND SOCIAL RESPONSABILITY

  • Periodic awareness on sustainability and conscious consumption for employees.

  • Incentive programs for employees who present sustainable ideas or initiatives.

  • Internal awareness campaigns on energy efficiency, recycling and environmental impact.

  • Ensure that any associates that we employ take account of sustainability issues in their advice to clients.

3. MONITORING AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

The company will establish metrics and performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of its sustainable practices, including:

  • Regular monitoring of energy consumption and carbon emissions.

  • Analysis and reduction of electronic waste volume.

  • Continuous feedback from employees and stakeholders to improve the sustainability policy.

Additionally, the company will periodically review this policy to ensure alignment with best practices and global trends.

4. COMMITMENT AND RESPONSABILITY

All employees, managers, and partners of Morphis Tech are responsible for adhering to this policy and actively contributing to the company’s sustainability efforts.
